RLM 74 is one of the definitive greys of the Luftwaffe's late-war splinter schemes — the grey-green half of the classic 74/75 mottle worn over German fighters and bombers from the early 1940s onward. This 17ml pot from AK's 3rd Generation acrylic range gives you an authentic, colour-matched shade straight from the pot, so there's no guesswork mixing your own. Whether you're building a Bf 109, an Fw 190 or matching terrain, it earns its place in the paint rack.
Best for
- Airbrushing large upper-surface camouflage areas — thin 1:1 to 2:1 with AK's own 3G thinner (or water) for a smooth, clog-free spray
- Brush painting smaller aircraft, vehicles or dioramas that need the same authentic shade
- Building a historically accurate splinter scheme alongside the matching RLM 75 and RLM 76
The pigment-rich matt finish AK's 3rd Generation range is known for means strong single-coat coverage, and once cured the paint is tough, permanent and unbothered by washes, oils or weathering products layered on top — so you can crack straight on with panel lining and fading.
17ml, ready to use straight from the pot. Browse the full AK 3rd Generation Acrylics range for the rest of the Luftwaffe set, or read our guide to the AK Interactive range if you're new to the brand.
